A curing agent, also known as a hardener, maturing agent, or crosslinking agent, is a substance or mixture that promotes or controls the curing reaction. Resin curing involves chemical reactions such as condensation, ring closure, addition, or catalysis, leading to an irreversible transformation of thermosetting resins; this process is accomplished by the addition of a curing (crosslinking) agent.
